yI,MNY It,' <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Construction Management Services <br />For Gateway Park - RFQ No. 12 -06 -01 <br />City of Miami Beach Parks and Facilities Capital Improvement Program <br />Client: City of Miami Beach, FL <br />URS Role: Construction Program Management <br />Program Value: $70 million <br />Performance Period: 2001 — 2008 <br />URS Manager: Steve Baumal, <br />Natalie DuQuesnay <br />URS provided program, project and construction management services for the City of Miami Beach Parks <br />and Facilities Improvements Program. This program provided approximately $70 million in physical <br />improvements and new construction for the City's parks and new capital projects. It provided for new <br />construction, renovation, replacement and expansion of 22 parks and other facilities throughout the City <br />of Miami Beach. Projects included the $7M North Shore Youth Center, the $3M Scott Rakow Community <br />Center, and the $2M Flamingo Park and Aquatic Center (pictured below). <br />Pre - construction services provided include assessing quality and status of all design projects, <br />constructability reviews, cost evaluations, bidding assistance, and contract negotiation <br />assistance. Construction phase services included serving as the owner's representative in the <br />management of the construction and design contracts. URS coordinated the efforts of the City's contract <br />architects, engineers, and general contractors, monitored progress, provided on -site observation and <br />reports, conducted progress meetings, evaluated and recommended change orders, processed payment <br />applications, coordinated project documentation and closeouts. <br />URS also managed the relocation of a historic firehouse to make room for a new state -of- the -art fire <br />station. The firehouse was preserved for adaptive use in the future. <br />Projects also included administrative offices, a convention center, a library, and parking facilities. <br />"URS provided quality services to the City of Miami Beach for this project.
