Copy <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA <br />CITY COMMISSION MEETING <br />MINUTES <br />City Hall <br />Thursday, October 16, 1997 17070 Collins Avenue, Suite 250 <br />7:00 P.M. Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br />I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by <br />the Mayor at 7:05 PM. The following Commissioners were present: <br />Mayor David Samson <br />Vice Mayor Irving Turetsky <br />Commissioner Daniel Iglesias <br />Commissioner Lila Kauffman <br />Commissioner Connie Morrow <br />City Attorney Lynn M. Dannheisser and Interim City Clerk Jonda K. Joseph <br />were also in attendance. <br />II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mr. Richard Schulman presented a United <br />States flag. The pledge of allegiance was led by Commissioner Kauffman. <br />Father Conway led the audience in the invocation. Mayor Samson presented <br />a check from his campaign funds to Father Conway. <br />III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: September 25, 1997 Regular Meeting; <br />ACTION: Minutes of the September 25, 1997, regular meeting were <br />approved. MOTION: Vice Mayor Turetsky; SECOND: Commissioner <br />Kauffman; Unanimous vote of 5 -0. <br />IV. AGENDA/ORDER OF BUSINESS (additions /deletions) <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT; Mayor Samson provided a status report on <br />negotiations with Dade County to secure revenues due the City. He has <br />requested $500,000. If the City is successful in getting $500,000, he will <br />suggest the placement of part-time policemen in the community until a police <br />chief and department are formed. <br />
