Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting July 19,2012 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida Public Speakers: Joyce Lerner Joyce Lerner,a 25-year resident of Sunny Isles Beach,suggested putting in solar panels into the parks generating electricity to bring money back to the City. She also suggested that people can make donations and have their names put on benches or bricks. Mayor Edelcup said that we already have a program in place for naming benches and if anybody is interested they can contact Susan Simpson. We have benches available for dedication in Heritage Park and we will have them in the other parks as well. As for solar panels, we are always in conversation with FPL working with them to develop some pilot programs in which we could have either wind power or solar power experimented here in Sunny Isles Beach. Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Aelion seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1945 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 10P. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Authorizing the Not to Exceed Amount from $30,000.00 to $41,000.00 with The Miami Herald Publishing Company for Retail Advertising Services;Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Gatto moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1946 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 10Q.A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Authorizing the Not to Exceed Amount from$31,000.00 to$45,000.00 with Bonnie Bennett Creative to Provide Design Services for the Cultural and Community Services Department; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. Action:City Clerk Hines read the title,and Cultural and Community Services Director Susan Simpson reported. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Gatto moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1947 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 10R.
