A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Approving <br /> the Award of Bid No. 12-05-02 to and Entering into an Agreement with John Churchill <br /> for Fleet Maintenance and Repair Services to Provide Heating and Air Conditioning <br /> Services to City-Owned Buses, in an Amount Not to Exceed$30,000.00,Attached Hereto <br /> as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City <br /> Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an <br /> Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title,and Public Works Director Wade Sanders reported. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1936 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10G. Landscape Maintenance Services: <br /> 1. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Approving <br /> the Award of RFP No. 12-05-01 to and Entering into an Agreement with Lukes- <br /> Sawgrass Landscaping,Inc.for Landscape Maintenance Services,in an Amount Not to <br /> Exceed$650,000.00 for One Year,Attached Hereto as Exhibit"A";Authorizing the Mayor <br /> to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to <br /> Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: [City Clerk's Note: A Memorandum from the Purchasing Agent was distributed <br /> prior to the meeting. See Item 4A for additional action] City Clerk Hines read the title,and <br /> City Attorney Ottinot reported that due to information provided to his office this week by <br /> staff and other information he received,he is requesting that we withdraw this resolution and <br /> recommendation, and that staff can make another recommendation at a future meeting. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Mayor Edelcup proposed since this item is being withdrawn that the Commission give staff <br /> authority to proceed and either get this resolved with the first choice, or move on to and <br /> negotiate with the second choice. This way we are not delaying the process and can give the <br /> same authority of up to$650,000 to accommodate the work that needs to be done. He asked <br /> to make that a substitute resolution. City Attorney Ottinot said with that motion and <br /> direction to staff, we can bring the matter back to Commission on August 21, 2012 at the <br /> Special City Commission Meeting. <br /> Commissioner Scholl made a motion to withdraw this item and substitute the Mayor's <br /> motion for authority to negotiate with the other bidders up to $650,000. <br /> Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion to withdraw this <br /> resolution. The motion was approved by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 2.
