Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting September 20,2012 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida Ms. Gray said that this is not about who is paying for the work but the work that is being installed in the right-of-way. So while we are able to get a deal at least at this time with this demonstration section, it is at no cost to the City. Even if we pay this contractor to do it.the construction agreement would be required because at the end of the day it is FDOT's right- of-way. We submitted the paperwork to them on August 9, 2012 and have received some comments back, and she is waiting on others. We don't have a firm date set yet but he can't do it until we have a construction agreement, and he will be working for us. Acting City Manager Maas said we tried to coordinate it to where we would have both programs, the crosswalk painting at 178th and the pavers at the same time under the same permitting process but were unsuccessful. The only thing we are waiting for is the permitting process through FDOT. Mayor Edelcup said in the meantime we will keep painting it. Commissioner Aelion moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2012-1961 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 10F. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Police Captain Michael Grandinetti reported. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Authorizing the Chief of Police, in Accordance with the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984, to Expend up to $48,147.00 from the Partial Federal(DOJ) Forfeiture Funds for Tactical Police Equipment, Marine Patrol Equipment, Unmarked Police Vehicle and Security Gate Access System; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Police Captain Michael Grandinetti reported.
