SECTION 02512 <br /> CONCRETE PAVING AND SURFACING <br /> PART 1 —GENERAL <br /> 1.01 WORK INCLUDED <br /> A. Finish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to place Portland <br /> cement pavement and surfacing in accordance with the grades and typical <br /> section shown on the drawings and as specified herein. <br /> 1.03 REFERENCES <br /> A. ACI 325 Design of Concrete Pavements <br /> B. ASTM C31 Making and Curing Concrete Test Specimens in Field <br /> C. ASTM C143 Slump of Portland Cement Concrete <br /> D. ASTM C94 Ready-Mix Concrete <br /> E. ASTM C39 Compressive Strength of Cylindrical Concrete <br /> Specimens <br /> 1.04 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Materials shall be furnished from sources of supply approved by the Engineer. <br /> Contractor to submit ' Proposed Paving Construction Plan", which shall show the <br /> concrete paving joint types and locations and shall include a statement of <br /> proposed sequence and schedule of paving operations with a brief description of <br /> motorized paving equipment if applicable. Proposed joint layout plan shall be <br /> submitted to Engineer seven (7) days prior to commencement of paving <br /> operations. Unless the Contractor is notified of required changes by the <br /> Engineer prior to the scheduled paving commencement date the '"Proposed <br /> Paving Construction Plan" will be considered accepted and approved. <br /> PART 2 — PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 MATERIALS <br /> A. Forms: Use forms of either steel or wood, of size and strength to resist <br /> movement during concrete placement and to retain horizontal and vertical <br /> alignment until removal. Use forms that are straight and free of distortion and <br /> defects, extending the full depth of form radius bends as required. Coat forms <br /> with a form release agent that will not discolor or deface the surface of the <br /> concrete. <br /> B. Joint Material: Provide premolded joint filler for expansion (isolation)joints. <br /> C. The use of curing compound will not be allowed. Concrete curing shall be <br /> in conformance with Part 3. <br /> 2.02 CONCRETE MIX, DESIGN AND TESTING <br /> 08/12 02512-1 11-4179 <br />
