Equivalent position does not extend to <br /> perceived loss of or potentially diminished opportunities for promotion. <br /> 16.Intermittent leave means time off from work taken in separate periods of time <br /> due to a single illness or injury, rather than for one continuous period of time and <br /> may include leave of periods from an hour or more to several weeks. Examples <br /> of intermittent leave would include leave taken on an occasional basis for <br /> medical appointments, or leave taken several days at a time spread over a <br /> period of six months, such as for chemotherapy. <br /> 17.Reduced leave schedule means a leave schedule that reduces the usual number <br /> of hours per workweek or hours per workday of an employee. <br /> 18.Qualifying exigency is a non-medical activity that is directly related to the covered <br /> military member's active duty or call to active duty status. It helps families of <br /> members of the National Guard and Reserves manage their life affairs while <br /> the member is on active duty in support of a contingency operation. <br /> 19.Covered Servicemember or Military caregiver leave allows eligible employees <br /> who are family members of covered service members to take up to twenty-six <br /> (26) workweeks of leave in a "single 12-month period" to care for a covered <br /> service member with a serious illness or injury incurred in the line of duty on active <br /> duty. <br /> 20. "12-Month Period" means a rolling 12-month period measured backward from <br /> the date leave is taken. <br /> 21."12-Month Servicemember Period"means a single 12-month period measured <br /> forward from the first day Servicemember Family Leave is taken. <br /> LEAVE ENTITLEMENTS: <br /> Family Medical Leave <br /> 1. Eligible employees will be granted up to 12 weeks of Family Medical Leave for <br /> the following reasons: <br /> a. For the birth of an employee's child (including incapacity due to <br /> pregnancy ore pre-natal care) or to care for the newborn child; <br /> b. For the placement of a child with the employee for adoption or state <br /> approved foster care; <br /> c.
