<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Proposal No. 12-05-01 25A <br /> <br /> <br />When applicable the City prefers that Tree Trimming is done on Saturday and Sunday <br />mornings only. The tree trimming shall include the simultaneous removal of the fruits. <br /> <br />3.7 SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR BERMUDA TURF <br /> <br />The mowing of all Bermuda turf is not to exceed 1½” height or as directed by the City, with a <br />hydrostatic reel type mower. Remove all clippings with each cut. Reel mowers shall be in good <br />repair and blades sharpened weekly. All Bermuda turf shall be mowed and edged a minimum of 2 <br />times per week, including weekends (104 cuts). Turf shall be cross -cut. ‘Choice’ mole cricket <br />control (on Bermuda turf) chemical shall be used once per year during the month of May. The <br />Contractor shall follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application methods and amounts. The <br />Contractor shall apply Diazanon, on Bermuda turf on an “as needed” and curative basis only. The <br />Contractor shall apply Daconil fungicide at the first appearance of fungus and following the <br />manufacturer’s instructions for application methods and amounts. It is the contractor’s <br />responsibility to assess and recommend in writing any additional services to maintain the turf to the <br />standards in section 3.1. <br /> <br />3.7.1 FUNGUS CONTROL <br /> <br />For fungus control on Bermuda turf, the Contractor shall use two applications of Revere, <br />Subdue, or approved equal. The first application is to occur in March and the second <br />application is to occur in September. <br /> <br />3.7.2 FERTILIZATION <br /> <br />For fertilization on Bermuda turf, the Contractor shall apply Lesco 13-2-13 a minimum of <br />twelve times per year. The Contractor is responsible for contracting with a laboratory <br />approved by the City, to complete two soil analyses per year to verify the minor element <br />requirements, and adjust fertilizer application as needed. The Contractor will submit soil <br />analysis to City for review by City Landscape Architect. <br /> <br />3.7.3 AERATE <br /> <br />The Contractor shall aerate Bermuda turf with a turf aerator each month (12 times per <br />year), and shall coordinate dates for this work with the City. The mowing of all other <br />areas (except Bermuda turf) shall occur every ten calendar days from October 1 st <br />through April 1st and every seven calendar days from April 1st through October 1st (44 <br />cuts). Remove and properly dispose of all visible grass clippings from curbs, gutters and <br />general site. <br /> <br />3.7.4 WEED CONTROL <br /> <br />For weed control, on Bermuda turf, the Contractor shall use two applications of <br />Pendulum or Ronstar.
