CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH RFP 12‐01‐03 <br />ARTIFICIAL TURF FOR SENATOR GWEN MARGOLIS AND PELICAN COMMUITY PARKS <br /> <br />RESPONSES TO BIDDER INQUIRIES December 6, 2012 <br /> <br /> <br />1. Question: The RFP requirement for Comprehensive General Liability is equivalent to a $15,000,000.00 <br />project budget. Is it possible to amend the RFP requirements for Comprehensive General Liability to a <br />lesser amount, equivalent to the project budget, 1 to 2 million dollars? <br /> <br />Answer: The insurance requirements are as stated in the RFP. <br /> <br />2. Question: The insurance requirements as stated below are not generally required for this type of <br />project. Is it possible to amend the RFP requirements to omit the Broad Form Contractual Coverage, and <br />Personal Injury Coverage with Employee and Contractual Exclusions as stated? <br />• Broad Form Contractual Coverage applicable to this specific Contract, including any hold <br />Harmless and/or indemnification agreement. <br />• Personal Injury Coverage with Employee and Contractual Exclusions removed, with minimum <br />limits of coverage equal to those required for Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage <br />Liability. <br /> <br />Answer: The insurance requirements are as detailed in the RFP. <br /> <br />3. Question: Please clarify what type of similar insurance coverage is required for Sub‐vendor(s) selected <br />for this project? <br /> <br />Answer: Subcontractors are required to maintain the same levels of coverage as the prime. <br /> <br />4. Question: Is the city going to purchase items above a certain dollar amount in order for the contractor <br />to utilize the “exempt” status? If not the bidder will still be liable for Florida use tax, correct? <br /> <br />Answer: The City is not going to purchase items for contractor use on this project. Contractor must pay <br />any and all applicable taxes and fees. <br /> <br />5. Question: At Pelican Community Park is the bidder responsible for the “natural clay areas” or is the city? <br /> <br />Answer: This is a turnkey project. The bidder is responsible for rehabilitating the natural clay areas. <br />Excess suitable material from the infield can be used for this purpose. The baseball field is designed for <br />use by 12 years old and younger. <br /> <br />6. Question: Section 5, Proposal Format, Labeled Part #7 – Site Affirmation, The instructions state one for <br />each site, is this required even though the provided one states both locations? <br /> <br />Answer: Since both fields will be awarded to a single bidder, one affirmation listing both parks is <br />sufficient. <br /> <br />
