Request for Clarification No. 2 <br />ARLEN HOUSE RIGHT-OF-WAY IMPROVEMENT <br />CITY RFP NO. 14-04-01 <br /> <br /> <br />18. On sheet LM-03 detail 8 & 9, can these be precast and set in mud on top of wall as stated in <br />detail 4 same page? <br /> <br />Response: <br />Exact construction methodology is at the discretion of the Contractor, however, the structural <br />requirements outlined on sheet ST-02 Section 3 must be satisfied. <br /> <br /> <br />19. Please clarify in which line item the cost associated with connecting into the existing irrigation <br />main line/backflow should be allocated or please provide a separate line item. <br /> <br />Response: <br />Exact construction methodology is at the discretion of the Contractor, however, the structural <br />requirements outlined on sheet ST-02 Section 3 must be satisfied, as well as any other <br />requirements outlined by the City Building Department. <br /> <br /> <br />20. How will we handle the replacement of any Collins Avenue Asphalt, curb or gutter required by <br />FDOT? <br /> <br />Response: <br />The current contract documents and FDOT permit assume that the existing curb and gutter will <br />remain in place. If damaged by the contractor during the construction operation, existing curb <br />and gutter shall be replaced by the Contractor at no additional cost to the project. <br /> <br /> <br />21. Line item #29 is requesting a Lump Sum to replace and restore existing electrical within Arlen <br />House impacted by proposed project. Can you please provide plans illustrating existing <br />electrical? <br /> <br />Response: <br />Line item # 29 has been eliminated in lieu of a lump sum (LS) contingency to account for this <br />line item. See contingency item # 87 – Electrical Systems Contingency. Prior to start of work on <br />any contingency related items, the Contractor must submit an itemized breakdown to the City <br />for review and approval. <br /> <br /> <br />22. Line Item #80 is for the replacement and restoration of the existing irrigation within the Arlen <br />House. Can you please provide plans illustrating existing irrigation? <br /> <br />Response: <br />Line item # 80 has been eliminated in lieu of a lump sum (LS) contingency to account for this <br />line item. See contingency item # 86 – Irrigation Systems Contingency.
