Addendum No. 3

City of Sunny Isles Beach
NEW HVAC CHILLER SYSTEMS FOR GOVERNMENT CENTER
CITY ITB NO. 16-09-02

To All Bidders:

Bidders for the above referenced project shall take note of the following changes, additions,
deletions, clarifications, etc. to the Plans and Specifications, which in accordance with the
Contract Documents shall become a part of and have precedence over anything shown or
described otherwise.

Questions:

1. Do you have a chemical treatment vendor? Will they provide chemicals for start-up?

Response: Drawings currently specify a Griswold “Wave” Electronic water treatment
system (chemical free). Other systems will be acceptable but initial installation, startup,
and operation of the system for the warranty period must be included in the bid proposal.

2. Specifications state that the city is tax exempt – please clarify, do we include sales tax in
the bid for material, equipment and labor?

Response: The bidder should prepare their bid including all sales tax. If mutually
agreeable to the selected bidder and the City, direct purchase orders can be prepared
during the project to specific equipment/materials providers in order to lower the overall
cost to the City (i.e. savings of sales tax), also thereby reducing the contract total for the
bidder. This is commonly done on large projects such as this.

3. Is lighting protection required?

Response: Lightning protection is not required.

4. Is fire protection required?

Response: Fire protection is not required.

5. Clarify which license is required to bid the project, Florida General Contractor license?
