Addendum No.10 <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE NORTH BAY ROAD PEDESTRIAN EMERGENCY BRIDGE <br />CITY RFP NO. 14‐09‐01 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />Q15: The drilled shaft plans (sheets B-6 through B-11) do not indicate any load <br />tests being required for the foundation shafts. Please confirm that none are <br />required. <br /> <br />A15: Shaft capacity has been designed assuming shaft will be installed as per <br />FDOT Standard Specifications without a load test. The Resistance Factor was <br />used accordingly and as such a load test is not required. If considered necessary <br />by the contractor, then the contractor can perform a load test without any additional <br />cost or time to the project <br /> <br /> <br />Q16: Will a “method shaft” be required for the drilled shaft foundations? <br /> <br />A16: As per FDOT Standard Specifications, Method Shaft is required. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Q17: Are SID tests required for the drilled shafts? <br /> <br />A17: SID tests are not required. <br /> <br /> <br />Q18: For any testing of drilled shafts, who is to provide for the inspection of the <br />testing? <br /> <br />A18: The City of Sunny Isles Beach shall provide for the inspection of the testing. <br /> <br /> <br />Q19: If the Contractor elects to utilize permanent casing for the drilled shafts, is <br />there a required cutoff elevation of the casing? <br />A19: If the Contractor elects to use permanent casings for drilled shafts, the cutoff <br />elevation shall be two (2) feet below the mudline. <br /> <br />Q20: Please clarify that the Contractor is to provide QC testing for concrete, and <br />that the Owner will provide QA testing and inspection. <br /> <br />A20: The contractor shall provide QC testing for concrete and the Owner shall <br />provide QA testing and inspection. <br /> <br />
