Product Substitution Requirements - Division 1 <br /> <br />1.03 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Only new materials and equipment shall be incorporated in the work. <br /> <br />1. Materials and equipment furnished are subject to the inspection and <br />approval of the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />2. No material shall be delivered to the work without prior approval of the <br />ENGINEER. <br /> <br />B. Within 30 days after the effective date of the Agreement, submit to the <br />ENGINEER, data relating to materials and equipment he proposes to <br />furnish for the work. <br /> <br />1. Data shall be in sufficient detail to enable the ENGINEER to identify the <br />particular product and to form an opinion as to its conformity to the <br />specifications. <br /> <br />2. The data shall comply with product submittals. <br /> <br />C. Furnish facilities and labor for handling and inspection of materials and <br />equipment. <br /> <br />1. Prior to beginning or during progress of the work, submit samples of <br />materials for such special tests as required by the ENGINEER to <br />demonstrate that they conform to the specifications. <br /> <br />2. Samples shall be furnished, stored, packed, and shipped as directed at the <br />CONTRACTOR's expense. <br /> <br />3. Except as otherwise noted, the OWNER will make arrangements for and <br />pay for the tests. <br /> <br />D.
