<br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 WATER <br /> <br />A. Free or matter harmful to plant growth. <br /> <br />2.02 TOPSOIL <br /> <br />A. Material used for top soil shall be material supplied by CONTRACTOR from off-site <br />sources or from excavated pond bottom area if suitable for this use. <br /> <br />B. Topsoil mixture shall be suitable for plant growth and free from hard clods, stiff clay, <br />hardpan, gravel, brush, large roots, refuse or other deleterious material, and shall <br />be of reasonably uniform quality. <br /> <br />C. Rocks larger than 1 inch in diameter shall be removed. <br /> <br />D. Organic content as determined in accordance with AASHTOT 194 shall be at least <br />five percent (5%) and the pH shall be between 5.0 and 7.0. <br /> <br /> <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 CONDITIONS <br /> <br />A. Check that preceding work affecting ground surface is completed. <br /> <br />B. Do not start work until conditions are satisfactory. <br /> <br />3.02 PREPARATION <br /> <br />A. Stockpiled topsoil shall be spread to a thickness of two (2) inches over areas to be <br />seeded. <br /> <br />1. The resulting ground elevation shall be the proposed finished grade shown in <br />the Drawing. <br /> <br />B. Till fertilizer into top two (2) inches of soil at rate of 12 lbs/1000 sq. ft. <br /> <br />C.
