<br />1.04 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> <br />A. Measurement and payment will be included in the lump sum prices for the <br />appropriate work items, as shown in the Bid Schedule, as required for those <br />items which price and payment shall constitute full compensation for furnishing <br />materials and performing work in connection herewith and as specified in the <br />scope of work under this section. <br /> <br />1.05 TESTS AND CERTIFICATES <br /> <br />A. TESTS <br /> <br />1. Make tests in accordance with the recommendations of ASTM. <br /> <br />a. Do not exceed maximum concrete slumps as specified above. <br /> <br />b. Make five cylinders for each test required. <br /> <br />c. Take samples for the test from the mixer at the 1/4 and 3/4 points in the <br />load. <br /> <br />2. The ENGINEER may order core borings or other special tests during the <br />progress of the work. <br /> <br />3. Removed and replaced at no cost to the OWNER concrete failing indicated <br />tests. <br /> <br />4. CONTRACTOR to pay the cost of testing. <br /> <br />a. Propose a testing agency for approval by the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />B. SLUMP TESTS <br /> <br />1. Perform slump tests in accordance with ASTM C143 (latest edition) by <br />testing agency. <br /> <br />a. Make tests for each 10 cubic yards, or fraction thereof, of each pour. <br /> <br />b. In the event the slump exceeds the specified requirements, the batch <br />shall be rejected. <br /> <br /> C. AIR TESTS <br /> <br />1.
