STRENGTH TESTS <br /> <br />1. Testing agency shall mold 5 specimens for each increment of 50 yards or <br />less of each day's pour or as directed by the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />a. Maintain records for each specimen as to location, pour, and date. <br /> <br />b. Test specimens; one at 3 days, one at 7 days, two at 28 days, and one <br />at 45 days, if the 28 day tests fail to meet the specified strengths. <br /> <br />2. Cooperate with the ENGINEER or persons employed by the testing agency <br />for testing in making, storing and curing of the test cylinders. <br /> <br /> <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br /> <br /> <br />2.01 CEMENT <br /> <br />A. Use Domestic Portland Cement conforming to ASTM C150, (latest edition), <br />Type I, except Type II shall be used for liquid retention structures. <br /> <br />1. Only one domestic brand shall be used throughout the duration of the <br />project. <br /> <br />2.02 AGGREGATES <br /> <br />A. Aggregates shall meet the requirements of ASTM C33. <br /> <br />1. Do not use aggregates taken from salt water. <br /> <br />B. Provide clean, hard, sharp, natural sand having a fineness modulus between <br />2.5 and 3.0 as fine aggregate. <br /> <br />C. Provide clean gravel of crushed stone, graduation no. 57 as coarse aggregates. <br /> <br />2.03 WATER <br /> <br />A.
