1. Minimum cement content shall be 5.5 sacks per cubic yard for 4,000 psi and <br />5.0 sacks per cubic yard for 3,000 psi. <br /> <br />2. Maximum slumps shall be: <br /> <br />a. Footings: 3 inches <br /> <br />b. Slabs, Beams: 4 inches <br />c. Columns, Walls: 4 inches <br /> <br />3. Single pour which involves two specified slumps shall be governed by the <br />lesser. <br /> <br />4. Maximum water/cement ratio for liquid retention structures shall be 0.41. <br /> <br />5. Place concrete within 1 1/2 hours after introduction of water to the mix. <br />Under no conditions may additional water be added. <br /> <br />3.02 PLACING <br /> <br />A. Place concrete expeditiously in clean, damp forms that are not oily to the touch. <br /> <br />B. Spray forms with water immediately prior to placing concrete. <br /> <br />C. Secure reinforcement in position, have it inspected, and obtain approval before <br />pouring concrete. <br /> <br />D. Do not rest runways for transporting concrete on reinforcing steel. <br /> <br />E. Concrete placing time shall be in strict accordance with ACI standards, latest <br />edition. <br /> <br />F. Do not place concrete under water <br /> <br />G. Poured during daylight unless approved by the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />H. Where the reinforcing steel above the pour is coated with concrete while <br />pouring below, concrete shall be removed from the reinforcing steel after the <br />pour is complete. <br /> <br />I. SPECIAL <br /> <br />1. Flat, true surfaces are essential on concrete pours for floors. <br /> <br />2.
