2.05 GROUT <br /> <br />A. Mix grout for C. M. U. cores containing reinforcement for wind load resistance, <br />and for setting bearing plates or machinery according to the approved <br />recommendations of the manufacturer to give the necessary consistency for <br />placing and to give a minimum compressive strength of 3,000 psi in 3 days. <br /> <br />2.06 NON-SHRINK GROUT <br /> <br />A. Use Embeco Aggregate in Non-shrink grout as manufactured by the Master <br />Builders Company, Ferrolith by Sonneborn, or equal and be proportioned with <br />sand in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for the use <br />intended. <br /> <br /> <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 SHIPPING, HANDLING AND STORAGE <br /> <br />A. Deliver, store, and handle mortar materials so as to prevent damage, <br />deterioration, or contamination. <br /> <br />B. Store materials under cover in a dry place and in the original packaging. <br /> <br />3.02 PROPORTIONING AND MIXING <br /> <br />A. Control and accurately maintain specified proportions measurement. <br /> <br />1. Workability of consistency of mortar on the board shall be sufficiently wet to <br />be worked under the trowel. <br /> <br />2. Make water for tempering available on the scaffold. <br /> <br />3. Discard mortar which has begun to “set” after initial mixing. <br /> <br />4. Retemper mortar which has stiffened due to evaporation to restore its <br />workability. <br /> <br />5. Do not retemper the mortar at the mixer. <br /> <br />B. Machine mix mortar in a type of mixer acceptable to the ENGINEER in which <br />the quantity of water can be accurately and uniformly controlled. <br /> <br />1.
