3. Valves and valve operators shall be rigidly supported independently of the <br />piping. <br /> <br />4. Vertical runs of pipe shall be supported independently of the connected <br />horizontal runs. <br /> <br />5. Vertical pipes shall be supported at each floor or at intervals of at least 10 <br />feet by approved pipe collars, clamps, brackets or wall rests. <br /> <br />6. Supporting appurtenances, when used with copper piping, shall be copper, <br />bronze or bronze plated. <br />7. Piping shall be supported independently of the equipment to which it is <br />connected. <br /> <br />8. In-line devices (flowmeters) shall be removable without the need for <br />temporary supports for adjacent and connecting piping. <br /> <br />G. In general, the type of pipe supports to be used shall be as follows: <br /> <br />Height of Centerline <br />of Pipe Above Floor <br /> <br />Type of Support <br />0 - 3 ft. Concrete Pier <br />3 - 6 ft. Adjustable Pipe Saddle <br />or Bracket Supports <br />Greater than 6 ft. Hangers <br /> <br />H. Wall bracket supports shall be used where shown for pipe to be installed <br />adjacent to a wall. <br /> <br />1. Where it is not feasible to install hanger supports, adjustable pipe saddle <br />supports may be used with the permission of the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />2. Specifications for the bracket, saddle and hanger supports are hereinafter <br />given in the Schedule of Pipe Supports attached at the end of the section. <br /> <br />I. Install pipe supports in conformance with these specifications unless otherwise <br />shown on the Drawings. <br /> <br />1. Where deviations and modifications are required, they shall be made only <br />with the permission of the ENGINEER. <br /> <br />2.
