• <br /> 7. Carrying firearms or other weapons in any vehicle used for Superior Landscaping and <br /> Lawn Service business. <br /> 8. Operating any vehicle that is in unsafe operating condition. <br /> 9. Using portable computers or similar devices. <br /> 10. Being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other controlled substances. <br /> 11. Driving after taking any prescription or over-the-counter medication that may cause <br /> drowsiness, dizziness, or other side effects or that may affect the ability to safely and <br /> effectively operate a motor vehicle. <br /> 12. Using a company vehicle for any purpose other than legitimate company business. <br /> 13. Using a company vehicle for any purpose in violation of federal, state, or local laws. <br /> Anyone authorized to drive on Company business must maintain a valid Florida driver's license. <br /> Such drivers must immediately report any suspension or revocation of their driver's license and <br /> any violation or other conviction involving a motor vehicle to the Human Resource manager. <br /> Any vehicle used for Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service business must have the <br /> appropriate automobile liability insurance required by Florida. This includes personal vehicles if <br /> the employee is required to drive on Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service business. The <br /> employee is responsible for personal vehicle insurance. <br /> Verification of a valid driver's license and, if appropriate, proof of auto liability insurance must <br /> be made for all new employees who will drive on Company business. Additionally, the driving <br /> history for the previous three years must also be examined. <br /> New employees may not drive a vehicle on Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service business if <br /> their record shows a conviction for any of the following or similar violations within the three <br /> years prior to their hire date: <br /> 1. Driving under the influence ("DUI")/driving while intoxicated ("DWI"); <br /> 2. Negligent homicide with a vehicle; <br /> 3. Vehicular manslaughter; <br /> 4. Leaving the scene of an accident; <br /> 5. Reckless driving; <br /> 6. Driving with a suspended license; <br /> 7. Any other felony conviction involving a motor vehicle; <br /> 8. Failure to report an accident; <br /> 9. Refusal to submit to a breathalyzer or other drug and alcohol testing request; <br /> 10. Knowingly falsifying an accident report or police report; and <br /> 11. At Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service discretion, any other conviction involving a <br /> motor vehicle. <br /> The Human Resource Department is responsible for re-evaluating driving history, driver's <br /> license and auto liability insurance verification annually. Driving privileges may be revoked after <br /> the conviction for any of the following violations, regardless of whether the violations occurred <br /> while on duty for Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service: <br /> 17 <br />
