1. Driving under the influence ("DUI")/driving while intoxicated ("DWI"); <br /> 2. Negligent homicide with a vehicle; <br /> 3. Vehicular manslaughter; <br /> 4. Leaving the scene of an accident; <br /> 5. Reckless driving; <br /> 6. Driving with a suspended license; <br /> 7. Any other felony conviction involving a motor vehicle; <br /> 8. Refusal to submit to a breathalyzer or other drug and alcohol testing request; <br /> 9. Failure to report an accident; and <br /> 10. Knowingly falsifying an accident report or police report. <br /> Cellular Phones and Wireless Communications <br /> While operating a motor vehicle on company business Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service <br /> employees may not use a hand-held cell phone, tablet, or laptop while operating a vehicle. This <br /> will include whether the vehicle is in motion or stopped. This includes, but is not limited to, <br /> answering or making phone calls, engaging in phone conversations, and reading or responding <br /> to emails, instant messages, and text messages. If company employees need to use their <br /> phones or similar devices, they must pull over safely into a parking lot and turn off the vehicle. <br /> Additionally, company employees are required to: <br /> 1. Turn cell phones off or put them on silent or vibrate before starting the vehicle. <br /> 2. Consider modifying voice mail greetings to indicate that you are unavailable to answer <br /> calls or return messages while driving. <br /> 3. Inform clients, associates and business partners of this policy as an explanation of why <br /> calls may not be returned immediately. <br /> In order to allow our employees to devote their complete attention to their safety and the <br /> safety of our clients, company employees are not allowed to eat, drink, smoke or have similar <br /> distractions while operating a company vehicle. <br /> Failure to comply with the rules regarding driver distraction will result in disciplinary action, <br /> including immediate termination. <br /> Safety Inspections <br /> A daily safety inspection will be conducted by the foreman. The "Jobsite Daily Safety Review" <br /> found in this plan will be completed as part of this review. Any noted deficiencies will have <br /> corrective action initiated by the Superintendent. <br /> Safety Audits <br /> Periodically a Safety and Health audit will be completed by Safety and Risk Solutions. Any <br /> observed safety/health deficiency will be noted in writing. Corrective action is to be <br /> 18 <br />
