Notes as <br /> to who was contacted to correct the item and the approximate time estimated for abatement <br /> will be recorded by the Superintendent. Once the item has been corrected, a follow-up note <br /> will be made to document what corrective action was taken and when it occurred. <br /> Personal Protection Equipment <br /> When working at or visiting a Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service jobsite, the nature of the <br /> activities requires that employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment. <br /> Personal protection equipment (PPE) is issued by Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service and <br /> maintained by the employee. These PPE requirements are as follows: <br /> 1. Head Protection —All employees are to wear hard hats meeting the requirements of the <br /> latest ANSI Z89.1 standard at all times while within the work area. Employees who <br /> misplace or forget to bring an approved hard hat, shall not be allowed on the jobsite <br /> until they retrieved their hard hat or purchase another one. Failure to wear the hard <br /> hat will result in disciplinary action including removal from the jobsite. Superior <br /> Landscaping and Lawn Service is responsible for the purchase of this equipment and any <br /> damaged equipment. However, if lost by the employee, the cost of a replacement will <br /> be deducted from the employee pay. <br /> 2. Eye Protection — All employees are to wear safety glasses or goggles meeting the <br /> requirements of the latest ANSI Z87.1 standard. Eye protection will be worn at all times <br /> by everyone when using power and hand tools and performing work that exposes an <br /> employee to foreign air-borne particles. Employees who misplace or forget to bring <br /> approved eye protection shall not be allowed on the jobsite until they retrieved their <br /> eye protection or purchased another one. Failure to wear it will result in disciplinary <br /> action including removal from the jobsite. Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service is <br /> responsible for the purchase of this equipment and any damaged equipment. However <br /> if lost by the employee, the cost of a replacement will be deducted from the employee <br /> pay. <br /> 3. Foot Protection — All employees are to wear work shoes/boots with a minimum 1/2 inch <br /> heel worn at all times. It is the responsibility of each worker to purchase and wear <br /> them. Failure to wear it will result in disciplinary action including removal from the <br /> jobsite. <br /> 4. Hand Protection — All employees are to wear hand protection that provides adequate <br /> protection for hazards present in the work area. The employee must select the <br /> protection that fits properly and comfortably. Wear rubber or neoprene gloves when <br /> handling chemicals. Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service is responsible for the <br /> purchase of this equipment and any damaged equipment. However, if lost by the <br /> employee, the cost of a replacement will be deducted from the employee pay. <br /> 5. Hearing Protection —Approved hearing protection is required when any member of the <br /> crew is using power tools or motorized equipment or when the noise is loud enough <br /> that the employee must raise his voice to be heard or can't hear someone 3 feet away. <br /> Failure to wear it will result in disciplinary action including removal from the jobsite. <br /> 19 <br />
