I 'Pro Grass <br /> IFirst in Turf <br /> I <br /> I 4.6 An edge detail shall be installed around perimeter of field for securing synthetic turf at a <br /> depth equal to the elevation depth of rubber infill. <br /> I 4.7 All material shall be t00%fractured, by mechanical means, with elongated characters on each <br /> individual particle. Rounded sands or aggregates are prohibited. Free draining finish aggregates <br /> maybe required to achieve proper planarity and stability. Typical aggregate or aggregate blends <br /> I found acceptable for athletic field construction must conform reasonably to the following <br /> gradations: <br /> I BASE STONE Sieve %Passing By Weight <br /> Target Sieve 1.5" 100 <br /> 1" 95-100 <br /> 3/4" 75-90 <br /> I <br /> 1/2" 55-75 <br /> 3/8" 4O-J0 <br /> 1/4" 25-60 <br /> x4 z0-45 <br /> x8 10-25 <br /> x 16 10-20 <br /> I x30 o-8 <br /> x50 0-5 <br /> x100 0-4 <br /> x200 0-3 <br /> I4.8 The turf manufacturer must approve, but not warranty unless drainage base is installed by <br /> turf manufacturer,the aggregate base stone prior to installation.The turf manufacturer must verify <br /> Ithat the proper gradation, permeability and stability requirements can be met. <br /> 4.9 The finished grade of the aggregate base prior to the installation of the synthetic turf shall <br /> I not vary more than 1/4 inch over 10 feet. It is required that laser grading equipment be used to meet <br /> these parameters. <br /> I 5.0 SYNTHETIC TURF MATERIALS <br /> The synthetic turf material and resilient infill shall be in accordance with the following: <br /> I 5.1 A complete synthetic turf system comprised of green fibers at a nominal 2.00 inches long and <br /> clay red fibers at a nominal 1.50 inches long.The green synthetic turf shall be loot polyethylene fiber <br /> blend,comprised of 5o%monofilament(6 ply monofilament)and 5o%parallel slit film. The clay red <br /> I colored synthetic turf consists of t00%polyethylene parallel slit film fibers. All fibers are tufted into a <br /> double primary backing and coated with a urethane secondary backing.The turf backing will be <br /> perforated to ensure positive drainage.
