Cummins Cederberg is
experienced with the construction administration process, starting
with initial bidding and project award through pre-construction
meetings, special inspections and site visits during construction until
final completion. Experience has shown it is important the design
engineers remain involved through this process, where comprehensive
knowledge of the design conditions and underlying coastal processes correlates the varying construction
techniques with potential impacts to future rate of deterioration and service life. As an example, Cummins
Cederberg recently designed the seawall replacement and repairs as well as conducted subsequent
construction administration for the Winston Tower 700 Condominium. Close oversight ensured proper
concrete coverage, reinforcement treatment, and adequate removal of deteriorated material, which should
provide a longer service life and lower maintenance cost for the Client.

Environmental Monitoring
Following completion of projects, documentation and
monitoring of the performance can be a requirement
from the regulatory agencies. Monitoring can include
potential longe term impacts to marine resources,
success of mitigation, or structural performance.
Cummins Cederberg’s professional staff of engineers
and biologists are qualified to provide these types of
monitoring services and have been involved in long
term environmental monitoring projects for large
beach and dredging projects throughout Florida.
