BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br /> <br />Chen Moore and Associates provided civil engineering <br />and landscape architecture for the utility infrastructure <br />and roadway reconstruction of two islands (Sunset <br />Islands 3 and 4) off the Miami Beach west coast, along <br />the inter-coastal waterway. The project was publicly bid <br />as a design-build and funded by the City of Miami <br />Beach. It required coordination with various agencies <br />including the City of Miami Beach, the Miami-Dade <br />Water and Sewer Department, the Miami-Dade Public <br />Works Department, the Miami-Dade Regulatory and <br />Economic Resources Department and others. <br /> <br />The project consists of the replacement of 8" potable <br />water mains, the lining of existing sanitary sewer mains, <br />a completely new storm water drainage system, <br />including discharge pumps and outfalls, the <br />undergrounding of all existing overhead utilities, new <br />service connections to all properties, complete roadway <br />reconstruction and grading with new pavement section <br />and curb, landscaping, signage and striping. A <br />presentation of the technical components and lessons <br />learned from this project was provided at the December <br />2017 Conference of the Florida Stormwater <br />Association.
