RFP No. 18-02-01 – Cover Letter
March 22, 2018
Page 3

Cummins | Cederberg
7550 Red Road, Suite 217 ▪ South Miami, Florida 33143
Phone: +1 305 741 6155 ▪ Fax: +1 305 974 1969
info@CumminsCederberg.com ▪ www.CumminsCederberg.com
entire County. The analyses include evaluating local and regional wave conditions, morphological
trends, erosional hot spot assessments, shoreline response, and sediment budgets. Specifically, he
was the lead engineer for the Sunny Isles Shoreline Stabilization Project conducted in 2008 for the
City, which evaluated local coastal dynamics and provided recommendation for long term beach
management.

Mr. Cederberg earned his Master’s degree in coastal engineering from the Technical University of
Denmark. Prior to relocating to Miami 15 years ago, Mr. Cederberg worked in Denmark for two
large international consulting firms in their respective coastal and marine engineering departments,
as well as DHI Water & Environment. Mr. Cederberg is a registered Professional Engineer in the
State of Florida with experience in marine field investigations, environmental and regulatory
permitting, hydrodynamics, wave dynamics, water quality, sediment transport, hurricanes,
numerical modeling, sea level rise, coastal flooding, marinas, seawalls, bulkheads, ports and
coastal structure design. Mr. Cederberg has completed environmental permit applications as well
as engineering analyses and designs for a variety of shore protection, beach nourishment, cruise-
ship, marina and waterfront projects throughout Florida, the Caribbean, and Central America. In
addition, Mr. Cederberg was recently selected to participate in an expert group for PIANC (a more
than 100-year old international coastal and marine engineering organization) related to marina
design.

Workload
Cummins Cederberg is a dynamic firm with projects of varying size, allowing the firm to quickly
adjust and allocate resources to Client needs such as the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The proposed
Project Manager for this contract, Jannek Cederberg, currently has a 50% workload for the next
projected months. Other staff members with applicable expertise are presently at a 75% workload
with several projects near completion, which would allow smooth transition to upcoming projects
envisioned by the City. We do not rely on any single person for specific services but overlap
between staff relative to capabilities. Assignments for existing typical projects require a full time
workload of less than 1-2 months, for any staff members. allowing us to plan and incorporate
potential projects for the City. Cummins Cederberg is 100% committed to provide a high level of
service and sustainable solutions for the City.

Proposed Team
We have assembled a great team of local businesses who have worked together before. The team
consists of:

▪ Cummins Cederberg, Inc.
▪ Chen Moore & Associates, Inc.
