RFP No. 18-02-01 – Cover Letter
March 22, 2018
Page 2

Cummins | Cederberg
7550 Red Road, Suite 217 ▪ South Miami, Florida 33143
Phone: +1 305 741 6155 ▪ Fax: +1 305 974 1969
info@CumminsCederberg.com ▪ www.CumminsCederberg.com
model simulating the tidal flow and wave conditions in Miami-Dade County including the entire
shoreline of Sunny Isles Beach.

The firm was founded by Mr. Jason Cummins, P.E. and Mr. Jannek Cederberg, P.E., and over the
course of 8 years has successfully grown and been established as the leading engineering firm for
complex coastal and marine engineering projects in Florida and the Caribbean. The company is
repeatedly selected ahead of larger national engineering firms due to the unique and focused
qualifications. The firm’s success is built on providing high quality work in a transparent manner
in order to build long term relationships. The two founders have extensive experience in the coastal
and marine environment in the U.S. and the Caribbean, from both private and public clients. They
have been involved in more than 500 coastal and marine engineering projects in Florida and the
Caribbean (some of the largest in the region) providing unmatched knowledge and experience.
Both founders will remain highly involved in all work related to this contract.

No other firm has more coastal and marine engineers on staff in Miami-Dade County (or Monroe
and Broward Counties). This means work is done by engineers familiar with Miami-Dade County
and directly accessible to the City. Our Miami office is not a branch office just serving as
representation.

Our local presence is further supported by our recent involvement in coastal and marine projects
in Sunny Isles Beach, most as a result of recommendations from prior Sunny Isles Beach Clients.

Recent and ongoing projects by the firm include:

▪ Winston Tower 500 Seawall
▪ Winston Tower 700 Seawall
▪ Coastal Towers Seawall and Marina
▪ Arlen House
▪ North Bay Road Pedestrian Bridge Coastal Design Conditions
▪ Trump Condominium FEMA Coastal Analysis

Project Manager
The primary contact for services associated with this RFQ would be Mr. Jannek Cederberg. Mr.
Cederberg is intimately familiar with Sunny Isles Beach, having worked on coastal and marine
projects in the area for 15 years, while also residing in Miami during this period. Mr. Cederberg
has been involved in the environmental permitting and engineering of all of the firm’s projects in
Sunny Isles Beach. In addition, Mr. Cederberg has unparalleled experience with the coastal
dynamics in Miami Dade County. He has developed detailed analysis of sediment transport for the
