BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)CGA prepared beach access improvements and dune restoration design and permitting in concert with beachfront improvements planned for the Pompano Beach coastline. Improvements included a recreational access path on the back (west) side of the beach dune, providing connections to parking, picnic areas, passive recreational uses and furnishings. In addition, the design scope included providing connections to AIA and facilitating pedestrian and ADA access to the beach. Dune plantings and restoration plans were consistent with regulatory agency requirements and restrictions, as well as furnishings and lighting recommendations met turtle-friendly habitat requirements of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. For the permit applications processes, CGA was able to rely on past experience permitting with both FFWCC and with the Department of Environmental Protection to guarantee a smooth, timely adherence to process recommendations for expediting all permit needs. CGA also conducted several community meetings to obtain comments and buy-in from the residents. Among their concerns was to maintain visibility of the water over the beach dune. CGA engineered a section for the beach dune that met with the residents’ requests. <br />25.
