H. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
30. PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUESTED BY THE AGENCY. ATTACH SHEETS AS NEEDED.
H&M has been providing these specialized services for over 26 years. H&M has completed
many beach restoration and erosion control projects in Florida from initial feasibility through
design, permitting, bidding, construction phase services, and follow up monitoring.

Since the founding of the firm in 1991, H&M has established itself as one of the main coastal
engineering firms in Florida. H&M has significant experience in the field of erosion control
design through the practical yet innovative application of proven technologies and has
developed and maintained an excellent rapport with the State and Federal regulatory
agencies. Over the past 26 years H&M has gained extensive experience in addressing a wide
range of complex coastal issues and has been involved in providing specific coastal
engineering services necessary for the design, permitting, bidding and construction phase
services for many successful coastal projects. H&M has a great deal of positive experience
with the regulatory permitting process, particularly the State DEP Joint Coastal Permitting
(JCP), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permitting, the state DEP Environmental
Resource Permitting (ERP), State Water Management District (WMD) permitting, and the
State DEP Coastal Construction Control Line permitting programs as well as the State DEP
Beach Management Office. State and Federal regulatory programs include the coordination
with the federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)m Protected
Species Department (PRD) and the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), as well as the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). The state process includes coordination with the Florida
Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

H&M has a strong technical background in the specialized field of coastal engineering, not
only from an academic perspective, but also in terms of practical applied experience
including data collection, design, permitting, cost estimating, and construction
management and observation. The principals of H&M have specific experience with the
design and implementation of beach nourishment, dune restoration and enhancement,
shoreline protection revetment design, and nearshore and offshore erosion control
structures. Services provided include coastal process analysis, alternatives design analysis,
permitting, final design, plan preparation, bid document and technical specification
preparation, pay quantity review during construction, on site construction observation, and
follow up monitoring with project performance assessment. H&M also has helped many
clients dealing with post storm conditions, including development of interim strategies for
property protection while a longer more permanent solution is being pursued. H&M also
has been successful in achieving approved FEMA funding for reimbursement of post storm
restoration.

I.
