<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach | ITB 18-03-03 Right-of-Ways and Facilities Landscape Maintenance Services 44 <br /> <br /> <br />3.4.2 EQUIPMENT SPECIAL CONDITIONS <br /> <br />MOWERS All mowers must be rotary mowers with a maximum of a 72” cut. They <br />shall be adjusted to 2 1/2” or 3” cutting height as directed by City, shall <br />be in good repair, shall have no oil or gas leaks, and shall be equipped <br />with grass catchers and sharp blades. Mower blades shall be sharpened <br />or new prior to each cut. All rotary mowers must be mulching -type <br />mowers with no discharge allowed, or all clippings must be manually <br />removed. All equipment must be maintained in sound working condition <br />in order not to exceed comfortable decibel levels or as determined by the <br />City at its sole discretion. Contractor shall clean and sterilize mower <br />between cuttings at each location to prevent the spreading of disease <br />causing pathogens. <br /> <br />EDGER’S Shall be in good repair, shall have no oil or gas leaks, and shall provide a <br />clean straight edge not more than 1/2” away from walks and edge of <br />pavement. <br /> <br />VACUUMS In lieu of blowers, vacuums shall be used as part of this contract on streets <br />and sidewalks so as not to blow debris on or near cars, adjacent <br />properties, gutters, etc. <br /> <br />3.5 MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC <br />This section is applicable to any task requested in this ITB that involves traffic of any kind. Any <br />Work performed in the public right-of-way will require the prior approval of the appropriate public <br />agencies. These public agencies include, but are not limited to, the City, Miami-Dade County Public <br />Works Department, and FDOT. The bidder shall include all appropriate traffic control devices that <br />conform to an approved Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan. The cost of the MOT shall be taken <br />into consideration and all traffic control costs shall be a part of the unit price bid and shall not be <br />paid for separately. This shall apply throughout this entire ITB. <br /> <br />3.5.1 MOT OF RIGHT-OF-WAYS <br /> <br />Maintenance of Traffic shall be in accordance with the current edition of the Florida DOT <br />Design Standards (600 series), the Standard Specification for Road and Bridge <br />Construction, and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, as a minimum criteria. <br />This note should be included under all proposal items that may include work on both FDOT <br />and all City roadways. All traffic control costs shall be a part of the unit price bid and shall <br />not be paid for separately. <br /> <br />3.5.2 The Contractor is responsible to have required FDOT certification for initiating, installing, <br />and maintaining all temporary traffic control devices within FDOT rights -of-way in <br />accordance with the latest FDOT standard specifications. <br />
