  <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH SECTION 03500 - 1 <br />WELL DEVELOPMENT <br />  <br />SECTION 03500 <br /> <br />WELL DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />A. This section covers the labor, equipment and materials required to perform cleaning of <br />the existing wells and development of the wells to meet the design production rate of <br />600 gpm/ft. head. <br /> <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall develop the wells using a combination of compressed air and <br />pumped water, until, to the satisfaction of the ENGINEER, the discharge water is free of <br />sediments. The CONTRACTOR shall frequently and regularly surge the wells. <br /> <br />C. Well development activity includes jetting with simultaneous air lift, air lift and pump <br />development. The CONTRACTOR shall be paid per each developed well and shall <br />include but not be limited to the furnishing of all material, labor and equipment <br />necessary to complete development as specified, including all work necessary for the <br />installation and removal of test pump, and work necessary for changing development <br />methods between pumping, airlift, or jetting. <br /> <br />1.2 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. The CONTRACTOR will furnish the ENGINEER with manufacturer specifications for all <br />chemical additives proposed for development, manufacturer specifications for <br />generators, pumps and corresponding silencers, a calibrated flow meter with <br />certification no older than 60 days prior to notice to proceed and attest to an accuracy <br />of 95 percent or greater for the range of the meter, prior to installation of the <br />development pump, a manufacturer pump curve for development and testing pump(s), <br />drawing depicting schematic plan and equipment and piping for formation water <br />disposal. <br /> <br />B. Daily development summary logs must be completed daily by the CONTRACTOR and <br />submitted to the OWNER and ENGINEER as requested. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 DEVELOPMENT EQUIPMENT <br />
