SECTION 00500 <br />GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />A.The City of Sunny Isles Beach has experienced excess street flooding, particularly along <br />North Bay Road and other streets noted within the project limits indicated on the Project <br />Location Map and the Aerial Location Map located in the Appendix. <br />The principal purpose of this project is to retain a qualified well CONTRACTOR capable <br />of providing all services associated with the maintenance, rehabilitation and testing of <br />twenty (20) existing storm water gravity disposal wells located on Central Island <br />Neighborhood in the City of Sunny Isles Beach, FL (OWNER). Additional ancillary work <br />will require maintenance and rehabilitation of several drainage pipe outfalls, (along North <br />Bay Road, discharging into the Intracoastal Waterway) to assure that they are functioning <br />properly and not causing street flooding via backflow during high tidal conditions. <br />OWNER performed a limited on-site inspection along the seawall via marine vessel and <br />noted various sizes of outfalls other than what’s shown on as-built plans. It is OWNER’s <br />intent to have CONTRACTOR to investigate these outfalls with CCTV from the land side <br />and determine if they are connected and operational. <br />B.The CONTRACTOR performing work covered by this contract shall have all applicable <br />well licenses. The work covered by these specifications includes the furnishing of all <br />materials; labor, equipment, personnel and performing all operations in connection with <br />the services as specified herein and shown on the bid documents, along with attached <br />exhibits and drawings located in the Appendix. <br />C.Specifications included in these bid documents establish the performance, quality <br />requirements, location and general arrangement of materials and equipment, and <br />establish the minimum standards for quality of workmanship and appearance. <br />D.All maintenance, rehabilitation and construction services will be performed by a State of <br />Florida licensed well CONTRACTOR able to demonstrate meeting all applicable <br />standards set by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), South <br />Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), and Miami-Dade County Codes for <br />individual work assignments. <br />SECTION 00500 - 1 <br />GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
