1 <br /> 2.02 CORRUGATED ALUMINUM PIPE <br /> A. Pipe shall conform to the FDOT Section 945 including the requirements of <br /> AASHTO M-196. All pipe shall be round. <br /> B. Fittings shall be provided as shown on the drawings. <br /> C. Pipe joints shall be comparable to the Armco "Hugger-Type" joint which utilizes <br /> 1 forged steel bars secured to the connecting bar with tension straps and rubber <br /> 0-Ring type gaskets. <br /> D. End sections shall be provided as shown on the drawings. <br /> E. Pipe wall thickness shall be from 0.048 to 0.164 inch and shall have helical <br /> corrugations with riveted seams in conformance with FDOT Section 945 TABLE <br /> F. Pipe shall be able to withstand normal H-20 Design live loading when properly <br /> 1 installed. <br /> 2.03 CORRUGATED ALUMINUM PERFORATED PIPE <br /> A. Pipe shall conform to the FDOT Section 945 including the requirements of <br /> AASHTO M-196. Pipe shall be round. <br /> B. Fittings and end sections shall be provided as shown on the drawings. <br /> C. Pipe joints shall be the "Hugger-Type" joint only modified to accommodate the <br /> slotted grate in the pipe. <br /> B D. Pipe wall thickness shall conform to FDOT Section 945 TABLE I and be from <br /> 0.48 to 0.164 inch with helical corrugations and riveted seams. <br /> E. Pipe with perforations, where specified on the drawings, shall be 5/16-inch <br /> diameter with a spacing of 1 7/8 inches center to center. <br /> PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 HANDLING PIPE AND FITTINGS <br /> A. Care shall be taken in loading, transporting and unloading to prevent injury to the <br /> pipe or coatings. Pipe or fittings shall not be dropped. All pipe or fittings shall be <br /> examined before laying, and no piece shall be installed which is found to be <br /> 1 defective. Any damage to the pipe coatings shall be repaired as directed by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> 1 B. All pipe and fittings shall be subjected to a careful inspection prior to being laid or <br /> installed. <br /> ' C. If any defective pipe is discovered after it has been laid it shall be removed and <br /> replaced with a sound pipe in a satisfactory manner at no additional expense to <br /> 05/08 02613-2 05-4893 <br />
