For very heavy (generally formed) patches; the Engineer may order the addition of <br /> Ipea gravel to the mixture and the proportions modified as follows: <br /> Material Volumes Weights <br /> I Cement 1.0 1.0 <br /> 0.33 <br /> 0.2 .33 <br /> Sand 1.0 1.0 <br /> I Pea Gravel 1.5 1.5 <br /> G. In cases where the Embeco is employed in multiple patches and a rusty finish is <br /> not desired on the surface, such as exposed faces of walls, etc., the final layer (or <br /> I at least the final 1/2 inch) shall be composed of the 1 1.5 grout without Embeco. <br /> After hardening, rub lightly as described above for form tie holes. <br /> I3.12 INSTALLATION SCHEDULE <br /> A. Concrete for all structures shall have minimum compressive strength at 28 days of <br /> 3000 psi unless otherwise indicated on the drawings. <br /> I <br /> 3.13 FIELD CONTROL <br /> I A. The Contractor shall advise the Engineer of his readiness to proceed at least one <br /> working day prior to each concrete placement. The Engineer will inspect the <br /> preparations for concreting including the preparation of previously placed concrete, <br /> I the reinforcing and the alignment and tightness of formwork. No placement shall <br /> be made without the prior approval of the Engineer. <br /> B. The Engineer may have cores taken from any questionable area in the concrete <br /> work such as construction joints and other locations as required for determination <br /> of concrete quality. The results of tests on such cores shall be the basis for <br /> acceptance, rejection or determining the continuation of concrete work. <br /> IC. The Contractor shall cooperate in obtaining cores by allowing free access to the <br /> work and permitting the use of ladders, scaffolding and such incidental equipment <br /> I as may be required. The Contractor shall repair all core holes to the satisfaction of <br /> the Engineer. The work of cutting and testing the cores will be at the expense of <br /> the Owner if cores test satisfactorily and will be at the expense of the Contractor if <br /> Icores test unsatisfactorily. <br /> IEND OF SECTION <br /> I <br /> 1 05/08 03300-13 05-4893 <br />
