illC HEWETT-KIER CONSTRUCTION, INC. GENERAL CONTRACTORS
Within two weeks after a subcontract is executed the project manager and superintendent conduct
a Preparatory I meeting with those individuals in the subcontractor's organization responsible for
the contract. At this meeting the subcontractor's scope of work is discussed and clarified, contract
and submittal requirements are reviewed and the job schedule is discussed. Hewett-Kier
Construction, Inc. explains to these individuals exactly what is expected of them to meet their
contract responsibilities and to have a successful project.
No less than two weeks prior to the start of the subcontractor's work a Preparatory II meeting is held
at the jobsite by Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc.'s project manager and the superintendent/quality
control manager with the subcontractor's onsite foreman or superintendent and their supervisor.
The approved submittals are reviewed, as are the specifications, safety and job requirements. The
area of work is inspected to insure that it will be ready on the date the subcontractor is scheduled to
commence work.
When the subcontractor commences work the superintendent/quality control officer performs an
initial inspection of their work. This inspection is to insure their compliance with the contract
requirements and to develop a standard of quality for the balance of their work.
® Follow-up inspections are held daily while the subcontractor is performing its work to insure that
the standard of quality formulated at the initial inspection is met.
A final inspection is conducted at the time of completion of the subcontractor's work. This is for
final acceptance. Often the succeeding subcontractor is brought to this inspection for his acceptance
of the work before it is covered up.
In addition to the inspections discussed above both James R Hewett and Craig Colligan visit the job
sites several times a month to verify that the project management program is functioning as has been
described.
Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc. is especially qualified for this project because over the last 20 years
it has successfully completed over 200 projects for various government agencies totaling $200
million in value. Included in these projects were sports facilities for the Air Force, the Dade County
School Board, Army Corps of Engineers, Boca Raton Beach Tax District and The City of North
Lauderdale.
all
