HEWETT-ICIER CONSTRUCTION, INC. GENERAL CONTRACTORS <br /> Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc. utilizes Primavera Project Planner for its scheduling needs. The schedule is <br /> also used for contract billings and are broken down into responsibility codes for subcontractor's work. <br /> Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc. also utilizes Lynx Digital Photo Management System. Lynx is a state-of-the- <br /> art software tool that downloads digital camera pictures, files these pictures in a high-speed database,attaches <br /> them to various types of reports, and transmits this information to other Lynx Systems anywhere in the world <br /> instantly by modem, the Internet, etc. <br /> Hewett-Kier Construction,Inc.equips each project manager with a digital camera and Lynx software. Weekly <br /> photos are made of all projects and downloaded into our Lynx Master at home office. The photos enable <br /> Hewett-Kier Construction,Inc.'s President and Vice President to review job progress and activities. Also in <br /> the event of a question or job problem a photo of the area can be e-mailed to the home office for quick <br /> resolution. Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc. also has the capability to provide the owner or his representative <br /> with a Lynx viewer so that digital photos can be attached to Request for Information. The RFI can then be <br /> sent via e-mail or floppy disk for review and resolution. This process can expedite job problem solving by <br /> enabling all necessary parties to view the problems without having to schedule a meeting at the jobsite. <br /> Within two weeks after a subcontract is executed the project manager and superintendent conduct a <br /> ® Preparatory I meeting with those individuals in the subcontractor's organization responsible for the contract. <br /> At this meeting the subcontractor's scope of work is discussed and clarified, the contract and submittal <br /> requirements are reviewed and the job schedule is discussed. Hewett-Kier Construction,Inc. issues a detailed <br /> explanation of exactly what is expected of them to meet their contract responsibilities and to have a successful <br /> project. <br /> No less t an two weeks prior to the start of the subcontractor's work a Preparatory II meeting is held at the <br /> jobsite by Hewett-Kier Construction,Inc.'s quality control officer,the project manager,and the superintendent <br /> with the subcontractor's onsite foreman or superintendent and their supervisor. The approved submittals are <br /> reviewed,as are the specifications, safety and job requirements. The area of work is inspected to ensure that <br /> it will be ready on the date the subcontractor is scheduled to commence work. <br /> When the subcontractor commences work the quality control officer performs an initial inspection of their <br /> work. This inspection is to insure their compliance with the contract requirements and to develop a standard <br /> of quality for the balance of their work. Follow-up inspections are held daily while the subcontractor is <br /> performing its work to insure that the standard of quality formulated at the initial inspection is met. <br /> A final inspection is conducted at the time of completion of the subcontractor's work for final acceptance. <br /> Often the succeeding subcontractor is brought to this inspection for his acceptance of the work before any <br /> changes might occur. <br /> In addition to the inspections discussed above, both James R. Hewett and Craig Colligan visit the jobsite <br /> 0 monthly to verify that the management program is functioning as has been described. <br /> Daily James R. Hewett and Craig Colligan talk to the individual jobsite management team and review each <br /> project under their realm of responsibility. <br /> Hewett-Kier Construction, Inc. is especially qualified for this project because over the last twenty (20) years <br /> it has successfully completed over 220 government projects totaling almost $200 million. <br />
