<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Qualifications No. 18-08-01 17 <br /> <br />Section 3 <br />Scope of Services / Technical Specifications <br /> <br />3.1 SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />The City is seeking statements of qualifications from capable and qualified engineering firms in <br />response to this Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) for the purpose of providing engineering <br />consultant services for Golden Shores undergrounding. The successful firm will assist the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach in the gathering of existing data conditions for all underground and overhead <br />utilities including domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, natural gas, power, <br />communications, entertainment cable systems and street lighting. The firm will incorporate such <br />data with new design information to be provided to the public utility service providers as required. <br />The firm will assist in the conversion of existing overhead utilities into underground services from <br />North Bay Road to Atlantic Boulevard and from 185th street to 191st. The engineering services will <br />also include incorporation of a new community wide (Golden Shores) roadway systems, limited <br />new sidewalks from the entrances of Collins to Atlantic Blvd and along the east side of Atlantic <br />Blvd, new landscaping, restoration of all disrupted facilities and driveways caused by construction <br />activities, and a design of new street lighting. <br /> <br /> In general, anticipated work is expected to include, but not be limited to: program <br /> planning and management; assist with project liaison services with citizens within project <br /> area, elected officials and staff; easement preparation; coordinate electrical, CATV, and <br /> telecommunications designs provided by others; formal bid document preparation; contractor <br /> evaluation services; construction administration services; provision of project as-builts; <br /> supplemental engineering services, and related surveying. This project also includes the <br /> restoration of roads, landscaping, driveways and sidewalks damaged by the conversion and <br /> other related work as mutually agreed upon in conjunction with proposed underground utilities <br /> conversion projects. <br /> <br /> The successful firm must be properly registered and in compliance with the Secretary of State <br /> in Florida in addition to being licensed and registered with the Department of Business and <br /> Professional Regulation to practice their profession in the State of Florida. The successful firm <br /> must have a complete understanding of the Local Agency Program process (LAP), and FDOT <br /> design specifications and construction Standards. <br /> <br />The Respondent may perform functions including, but not limited to the following: <br /> <br />1. Land Surveying <br />2. Utility Locations / Assessment <br />3. Utility Coordination <br />4. Easement Preparation <br />5. Public Information Support / Resident Coordination / Project Liaison <br />6. Coordination of all permitting needed to complete the work. <br />7. Project Evaluation & Approach <br />8. Electrical Engineering <br />9. Mechanical Engineering
