Mead & Hunt is providing <br />design, permitting and bidding assistance in addition to construction contract administration and inspections on this 1.7-mile <br />utility conversion project along US 1. The first phase included the design, permitting and construction of individual electrical <br />and communication services to each of the properties fronting US 1. The design also upgraded streetlighting to current Florida <br />Department of Transportation requirements and installed additional underground conduit. The second phase requires obtaining <br />individual building permits for the properties. This project installed <br />approximately 94,000 linear feet of conduit to convert existing aerial utilities along Ridgewood Avenue (US 1) between Beville <br />Road and Big Tree Road. The design also included installing approximately 4,300 linear feet of 10-, 6- and 4-inch reclaimed <br />water mains and various appurtenances for the conduit and reclaimed water main. Streetscape improvements included widen- <br />ing the existing sidewalks from five feet to six feet and adding decorative features. We also removed on-street parking, added <br />a bicycle lane, replaced curbing, created a utility/green space behind the sidewalk for landscaping purposes, improved traffic <br />signals and resurfaced and restriped the roadway. This project was performed as Quentin L Hampton Assoc.
