B. Definitions Index -For the purpose of this CONTRACT, the following terms are defined as indicated <br />in the sections below: <br />TERM ARTICLE SECTION PARAGRAPH <br />Record Drawing 2 (A) (12) <br />Project Representative 2 (B) <br />CITY'S Representative 3 (H) <br />Contract Period of Service 4 <br />Payroll Costs 5 (D) <br />Reimbursable Expenses 5 (E) <br />Opinion of Probable Project Cost 49 <br />C. Study and Report Phase -After written authorization to proceed, ENGINEER shall: <br />1. Consult with CITY to determine its requirements for a Project and review available data. <br />2. Advise CITY as to the necessity of the CITY providing or obtaining from others data or <br />services of the types described in Article 3(C) and act as CITY's representative in connection <br />with any such services. <br />3. Provide special analyses of CITY' s needs, planning surveys, site elevations and comparative <br />studies of prospective sites and solutions. <br />4. Provide general economic analysis of CITY' s requirements applicable to various alternatives. <br />5. Prepare a Report with appropriate exhibits indicating clearly the considerations involved and <br />the alternative solutions available to CITY, and setting forth ENGINEER'S findings and <br />recommendations with opinions of probable costs. <br />6. Furnish seven (7) copies of the Report and present and review it, in person, with CITY <br />representatives. <br />D. Preliminary Design Phase -After written authorization to proceed with the Preliminary Design Phase, <br />ENGINEER shall: <br />1. In consultation with CITY and on the basis of the accepted Report, determine the Scope of a <br />Project. <br />2. Prepare preliminary design documents consisting of final design criteria, preliminary <br />drawings and outline specifications. <br />3. Based on the information contained in the preliminary design documents, submit a revised <br />opinion of probable cost for each Project including construction cost, contingencies, <br />compensation for all professionals and engineers, cost of land, rights-of-way, and <br />Continuing Service Contract 1.27.15 2
