<br />Project engineer. Subsequent to a state of Florida mandate that FPL “storm harden” all vital infrastructure and utility lines
<br />statewide, resulting in the installation of taller, concrete electric poles, the Town of Palm Beach chose instead to convert all
<br />aerial electric, communication, and cable lines to an underground location. Kimley-Horn serves as program manager and prime
<br />consultant designing and permitting the underground conversion process in close coordination with FPL, AT&T and Comcast.
<br />Kimley-Horn first developed a master plan to outline the schedule, sequencing, phasing, management of traffic impacts, project
<br />delivery methods, data collection, public outreach, design criteria, and projected costs. The benefits of undergrounding thes e
<br />utilities include improved neighborhood aesthetics, increased service reliability, and increased levels of safety as the lines are
<br />no longer exposed. The entire program, which began in 2016, is expected to take 10 years to complete.

<br />Lead project engineer and engineer of record for a 1.5 -mile PD&E study in Miami Beach. The multi-use corridor serves as a
<br />gateway to one of Florida’s most popular tourist destinations, South Beach. Improvements were developed to address safety,
<br />drainage, traffic flow, pavement conditions, bicycle facilities, pedestrian facilities, mass transit, parking, and landscapin g. The
<br />project included extensive public outreach, including the formation of a project advisory group of affect ed residents and
<br />business owners, presentations to a number of advisory boards of the City of Miami Beach and the Miami -Dade Metropolitan
<br />Planning Organization, and the endorsement of the study’s preferred alternative by the City of Miami Beach’s Commissio n.

<br />This project is part of the Krome Avenue South Corridor and has several environmentally sensitive areas. This segment of
<br />Krome Avenue handles part of the main freight activity in South and West Miami-Dade County, with a daily truck percentage of
<br />15%. Many utilities are being relocated and some segments of the corridor have undergrounding of overhead utilities.

<br />Project manager for the Kimley-Horn team responsible for the professional services, master planning, and the preparation of
<br />complete plans for the beautification of the Historic Venetian Causeway. Responsible for developing vertical and horizontal
<br />alignments, coordinating drainage design and signing and pavement markings, decora tive lighting,
<br />landscape/hardscape/irrigation and signalization plans for this corridor. The project includes extensive coordination with th e City
<br />of Miami and the City of Miami Beach to resolve flooding issues. It also required an extensive public involve ment program to
<br />address community concerns.

<br />Deputy project manager for design engineering services for SR 874 (Don Shula Expressway) roadway modifications from south
<br />of SW 88th Street (Kendall Drive) to south of SR 826 (Palmetto Expressway)/SR 874 interchange. The project consisted of the
<br />widening of SR 874 and included complex roadway design, drainage design, signing and marking, lighting, signalization,
<br />retaining walls, noise barrier walls, bridge widening plans, permitting, and public involvement services. The nature of the project
<br />changed and was re-procured as a Design-Build project. Kimley-Horn prepared 99% design plans and the subsequent design-
<br />build criteria package.
