Served as a senior consultant on the marine aspects of the repair and restoration of Annie’s Dock o the North End of Palm Beach Island. Repairs and restoration included the removal of damaged concrete caps, the elevating of the existing structures, the refurbishment of the existing metal walkways damaged during Hurricane Irma. b. As a subconsultant to another firm, Kimley-Horn provided a preliminary structural assessment for new cranes at Slip No. 1 and the Main Marginal Wharf Bulkhead. The Port’s tenant is looking to replace the current second- generation crane type with a third-generation crane. Part of the assessment included gathering manufacturer’s data on the cranes, review of the existing construction drawings and design calculations of the bulkhead, and analysis of the existing bulkhead and seawall. c. As a subconsultant to another firm, as part of the Port of Palm Beach’s plan to demolish the existing five -story Maritime Office Building. The existing FPL overhead power lines and AT&T transmission lines were determined to need to be relocated underground to provide adequate clearance for container handling equipment and stacking. As part of this project Casey was responsible for assessing undergrounding power and communications lines require to be placed underground and providing coordination and consulting services to Client for the undergrounding of these facilities. d. Responsible for the design of the repairs to this existing bulkhead. Repairs includ ed stripping of existing top 3-feet of the bulkhead concrete cap and replacing with a new section to match new adjacent berths. In addition, new water and electrical utilities were provided and general aesthetic cleanup of berth for use as part of the new Maritime Office Complex and Cruise Terminal Facility. e. Project consulting provided included general site circulation analysis and layout to optimize infrastructure impact and analyze roadway geometry and site space feasibility.
