All projects will be developed in the most cost- effective project scopes to achieve successful results. Prior to beginning a project, CAS's team would meet with city staff to outline the project scope, budget and timelines. CAS will communicate with city staff during each phase of the project and make the necessary adjustments to meet the city's goals. The CAS philosophy utilizes a phased approach towards assisting the city in problem solving and for implementation of the project. Our project approach is follows: PHASE I - PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING • Meeting with city staff and subconsultants to fine tune project scope • Develop a fee proposal to match the project scope • Call for SUE design ticket to determine existing utilities in the project limits • Contact all utility companies and communicate scope of project and city needs • Finalize scope and proceed with a project kick-off meeting with city staff, subconsultants and representatives of all utility companies, determine utility coordinator for project team • Provide schedule of values and preliminary costs to city • Obtain all as-builts of existing utilities within project limits • Utilize utility tracking management system to monitor project development PHASE II - DESIGN ENGINEERING • Prepare comprehensive survey of entire project limits • Prepare necessary easement documentation to incorporate relocated utilities • Provide utility 2D - 3D locates and incorporate existing utilities into survey base file • Perform site investigation of existing rear lot utilities and connections to residential homes • Perform soil borings and testing within project limits • Coordinate with existing utility companies on project schedules and costs to connect utilities from overhead system to underground • Public outreach to homeowners to inform them of the delineation between city and homeowner responsibilities • Determine location of utility duct bank within Golden Shores • Utilize all necessary design methods, establish design and permitting requirements • Prepare preliminary (30%) utility relocation, street lighting, drainage and roadway improvements, and landscaping plan and cost estimate • Dispense plans to all utility companies for recommendations 7777 Glades Road, Suite 410, Boca Raton, FL 33434 • Ph: 561-314-4445 • www.craigasmith.com • LB3110 16
