City of Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 18-11-01 | Consulting Engineering Services for Golden ShoresPump Station Rehabilitation (CCNA) <br />plants, and pumping stations are performed; Land Development projects that include parks, sports facilities, streetscapes, irrigation systems, parking lots, and pedestrian trails; and Highway Engineering that includes street lighting, roadway lighting, pedestrian and bikeway lighting systems. <br />Power generation and distribution projects include the design of natural gas or diesel engine-generators, automatic transfer switches, switchboards, panelboards, motor control centers, motor controllers including motor starters, soft starters, variable frequency drives and filters, power distribution including overcurrent protection devices, disconnect switches, feeders and branch circuiting. Associated computer programs used in these designs include generator sizing programs, short circuit calculation and coordination programs, voltage drop programs and arc flash calculation programs. <br />Construction services may include professional estimates of probable construction costs that are routinely performed for all types of electrical installations as part of the services provided. The engineer attends the pre-bid and pre-construction meetings and responds to requests for information (RFIs). Review and approval of shop drawings is conducted to assure a smooth construction process. Periodic observation of construction is performed during the construction, and testing and final inspections are conducted to close out the construction contracts. <br />CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT/ADMINISTRATION SERVICESCalvin, Giordano & Associates has an experienced and diverse staff in the field of construction administration. Our methods of approaching projects have proven extremely effective for clients throughout South Florida. <br />The CGA Construction Team is highly qualified to be the owner’s Construction Manager Support for implementation of capital improvement projects because of our extensive work with municipalities and their Capital Improvement Programs. <br />Projects will be assigned to a Project Manager (PM) who will have the responsibility of overseeing all aspects of the work, project scheduling, project budget and communication. The PM will be the point of contact with the client and other parties involved, will participate in all relevant meetings, including daily coordination meetings, progress meetings, issue resolution meetings, and will prepare daily reports summarizing work progress, describing issues, and <br />providing insight for anticipated important matters in the near future. The PM’s role will be coordinating with the Contractor, and other parties involved in the project for review of shop drawings, contractors’ submittal's, and as-built information; documenting field activities; assisting inspectors in pass/fail assessments; updating construction/inspection schedules; reviewing pay requests; reviewing change orders; and performing many other day-to-day activities to facilitate construction process, resolve conflicts, and submit weekly progress reports. The PM or assigned inspector will conduct site visits on a regular basis to ensure work is performed in accordance with the project requirements and specifications and will remain in contact with Project Managers from other entities involved in the project to ensure communications are streamlined, distribution of information taking place properly, and relevant information reaches those who should receive the information. <br />As part of being a Municipal Consultant for local governmental entities, we are constantly involved and up to date in all related agencies requirements and procedures; we have served as construction management for over $60 million dollars worth of capital projects, successfully assisting in the design, grant application, bidding, selection of contractor, construction inspection and final certifications. The client will be provided with a progress report based on our policy that communication with the client and other interested parties at each step throughout a project is key to the successful outcome of a project. <br />Appropriate city staff and other agency personnel and stakeholders will be copied on any work product for which comments or review is requested. Meetings will be scheduled with outside agencies and stakeholders as needed for a successful project completion. We have also designed and maintained an information website with construction progress, overall schedule, financial and traffic updates posted in an easy to read in order to allow the public real time information about the project. <br />22
