City of Sunny Isles Beach RFQ No. 18-11-01 | Consulting Engineering Services for Golden ShoresPump Station Rehabilitation (CCNA)
the latest in advanced computer-assisted software technologies such as Advanced Interconnected Pond Routing (ADICPR), Hydraflow, Cascade and other current computer programs. As District Engineer for ITDD, and BDD, our responsibilities include the review of all construction plans and specifications for conformance with the District criteria, as well as representation at District Board meetings to address technical and engineering issues. In addition, CGA has been successful in obtaining several millions of dollars in grants to accomplish the District’s goals and objectives.
Furthermore, CGA has also developed stormwater master plans for several municipalities including the cities of Lauderhill, West Park, Weston and the Town of Surfside. Within these cities, we have provided a number of stormwater-related activities such as stormwater modeling, drainage calculations, pump station design and / or pump station rehabilitation, NPDES MS4 compliance, culvert design, canal extensions and other related hydraulic structures. Our experienced drainage engineers keep abreast of the latest EPA, FDEP, DERM, and SFWMD regulations with respect to drainage issues. They regularly summarize new regulations, their impact on clients and recommend actions to comply with the new regulations. CGA has also provided municipalities with neighborhood improvement projects consisting of an initial study following by implementation of recommendations. The CGA team recently completed a major neighborhood improvement project with two dual pump stations pumping into fifteen (15) stormwater injection wells. CGA is familiar with the regulations required to permit, construct and certify such projects. CGA also provides smaller scale drainage design such as CDBG projects and small development improvement projects.
Roadway DesignCGA has provided engineering design, permitting and post design services for numerous municipalities and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). These projects required design for milling and resurfacing, signing and pavement markings, gravity wall, signalization, lighting, curb and gutter, sidewalk, safety improvements, traffic monitoring site upgrade and installation, and utility coordination including all above ground and underground utilities. We have completed projects that involved widening of the roadway, extensions of turn lanes, and construction of ADA compliant sidewalks after the installation of new water mains, sanitary sewer, and under grounding of electrical power, cable television, and telephone. In addition, drainage improvements
including curb and gutter, retention areas, pollution retardant devices, and a stormwater collection system were designed. Other projects involved upgrades to roadways from a two lane rural section to a four lane major collector, complete streets improvements including wider sidewalks, adding bike lanes and installing new landscaped medians in order to create a safer driving environment by providing safer turning opportunities as well as a safer environment for pedestrians and bicyclists by providing designated uses for each. The FDOT pre-qualified CGA team has staff with the advanced maintenance of traffic certification required to design and permit traffic control plans in Broward County and has extensive experience with Local Agency Program (LAP) projects including Transportation Enhancement Program and Community Incentive Grant Projects (CIGP). The team recently completed a CIGP project for the Town of Davie widening the roadway, installing landscaped medians, adding bike lanes and upgrading pedestrian access, signalization and lighting. A second phase of the corridor is under construction which also adds bike lanes, upgrades signalization, widens sidewalks and installs a landscaped median. This L AP funded design was completed on time and in compliance with FDOT’s LAP schedule and requirements. Additionally, the bids received were within 5% of the engineer’s estimate provided to the Town.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERINGThe Electrical Engineering Division performs services as the prime/project manager and where the division is a member of a design team. Prime electrical contracts include street, area lighting and power generation and distribution projects. Where services are performed under an umbrella contract including multiple disciplines, projects include Municipal/ Utility Engineering where complete systems design for water and wastewater treatment
21
