RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - 0-�p 0 0� / <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, WAIVING THE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH IN CHAPTER 62 OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE <br />AND EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH MILLENIUM PRODUCTS, INC. TO FURNISH <br />AND INSTALL ELEVATOR SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS, IN AN <br />AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NO <br />CENTS ($150,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, it is a priority of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") <br />to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents, visitors, and stakeholders; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is in need of a contractor to furnish and install surveillance cameras <br />inside the elevators located at city -owned facilities (the "Services"); and <br />WHEREAS, Millenium Products, Inc. (the "Vendor") has provided similar products and <br />services to the City, namely cameras for the City's Automatic License Plate Reader System and <br />closed circuit television system; and <br />WHEREAS, the Vendor has expressed its ability and desire to provide the Services; and <br />WHEREAS, a portion of the Services will be procured utilizing the General Services <br />Administration ("GSA") Contract No. GS -07F -0031W, awarded to the Vendor, in an amount not to <br />exceed Sixty -Eight Thousand Three Hundred Thirty -Three Dollars and Eighty -Eight Cents <br />($68,333.88); and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the City's procurement code provisions, purchases made through <br />intergovernmental cooperative purchasing arrangements or purchasing consortiums organized as a <br />not-for-profit corporation whose members are governmental entities, provided that such <br />cooperative purchasing arrangements or consortiums provide for a competitive process to select a <br />vendor are exempt from the City's competitive bidding procedures; and <br />WHEREAS, certain items will be purchased through the open market ("Open Market <br />Items"), in an amount not to exceed Thirty Thousand Five Hundred Sixty -Five Dollars and Sixty <br />Eight Cents ($30,565.68); and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-12 of the City's Code of Ordinances ("Code"), "[t]he City <br />Commission may authorize the waiver of competitive bidding procedures upon the <br />recommendation of the City Manager that it is in the City's best interest to do so, to obtain goods <br />and services which cannot be acquired through the normal purchasing process due to insufficient <br />time, the nature of the goods or services, or other factors"; and <br />@BCL@84070EB2.doc Page 1 of 3 152 <br />
