Gateway Park Center PERKINS+WILL <br /> 810495.00 <br />12/06/18 <br />033000-17 Cast-In-Place <br />Concrete <br />6.Patches that become crazed, cracked or sound hollow when tapped. <br />7.Self-leveling concrete topping that has cracked, spalled and/or not <br />performed in accordance with manufacturer's design criteria. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 CONCRETE MATERIALS & PRODUCTION <br />A.Portland Cement: <br />1.ASTM C150, Type I or Type II <br />2.Provide the same brand of Portland Cement from a single source <br />throughout the project, as required to meet Design Professionals’ <br />requirements. <br />B.Aggregates for Normalweight Concrete: <br />1.ASTM C 33 <br />2.Fine Aggregate: Natural sand, or sand prepared from stone or gravel, <br />clean, hard, durable, uncoated and free from silt, loam and clay. <br />3.The acceptability of aggregates for the work will depend on proof that <br />their potential alkali reactivity is not deleterious to the concrete. <br />4.Do not use fine or coarse aggregates that contain substances that cause <br />spalling. <br />5.Maximum coarse aggregate size shall conform to the requirements as <br />specified in ACI 301 but shall not exceed the following: <br />Size no. 57 (25mm max) for footings, drilled piers and caissons <br />Size no. 67 (20mm max) for all other locations <br />Size no. 467 or 457 for non-reinforced concrete at locations noted on <br />Drawings. <br />6.Contractor shall furnish concrete with maximum 3/8" (10mm) aggregate at <br />no additional cost to the Owner if areas of high reinforcement density <br />require it for placement and consolidation. <br />C.Water: ASTM C 94. Clean, and free from injurious amounts of oil, acids, alkali, <br />salts, organic material, or other deleterious materials. <br />D.Supplementary Cementitious Material <br />1.Fly Ash: <br />a)ASTM C 618, Class C or Class F. <br />b)Shall not be used unless part of an approved mix design. <br />c)Limit Loss on Ignition to 2.5% <br />2.Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag (GGBFS) <br />a)ASTM C 989.
