Description: Homogeneous tackable surface material made of primary natural <br />materials consisting of linseed oil, cork, rosin binders and dry pigments mixed and <br />calendared onto a natural jute backing. The color extends throughout the thickness <br />of the material. <br />1. Roll Size: In manufacturer's standard length, but not less than 48 inches <br />(1980 mm) wide. <br />C. Thickness: 0.240 inch (6.0 mm). <br />1. Color: As indicated. <br />D. Aluminum Trim: Fabricated from extruded aluminum. <br />1. Field-Applied Trim: Manufacturer's standard, 1/4-inch L-Trim. <br />2. Aluminum Finish: Clear anodic finish. <br />E. Adhesives for Field Application: Strippable, mildew-resistant, nonstaining adhesive <br />for use with tackable wall coverings; and for substrate application; as <br />recommended in writing by tackable wall covering manufacturer. <br />1. Adhesives shall have a VOC content of 50 g/L or less. <br />F. Primer/Sealer: Mildew-resistant primer/sealer complying with requirements in <br />Section 09 91 23 "Interior Painting" and recommended in writing by tackable wall <br />covering manufacturer for intended substrate. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. Examine substrates and conditions, with Installer present, for compliance with <br />requirements for installation tolerances, surface conditions of wall, moisture <br />content, and other conditions affecting performance of the Work. <br />B. Examine walls and partitions for proper preparation for tackable wall covering. <br />C. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br />3.2 PREPARATION <br />A. Comply with manufacturer's written instructions for surface preparation. <br />B. Clean substrates of substances, including dirt, mold, and mildew, that could impair <br />the bond of tackable wall coverings or affect the smooth, finished surfaces of <br />tackable wall coverings. <br />C. Prepare surfaces to achieve a smooth, dry, clean surface free of flaking, unsound <br />coatings, cracks, defects, projections, and depressions.
