M.NETWORK
56RFP NO. 19-07-02
We contacted the various cities in Miami-Dade County to find out if they had any parking
meters. Most had already replaced older parking meters with ParkMobile or PayByPhone
services. Which led to discussions about where all the old parking meters were.
We then were able to form partnerships with several of the municipalities, including City of
Miami, to both give us the old parking meters for free AND service and collect from them.
We then partnered with Romero Britto to paint the parking meters.
As you read in the case study above, the parking meters were then used as the PR hook
for “Homeless Awareness Day,” which is now recognized as the largest one day homeless
awareness event in the country and an event that is covered regularly by local and national
media.
We measure initiatives like this in a number of ways. Obviously, the fact that we were covered
locally and nationally and garnered millions of impressions is great. The fact that the meters
have raised enough money to build family-specific homeless units at local shelters is even
better.
