Approving <br />the Naming of a Park Bench in Heritage Park the "Robert J. Lilienfeld Park Bench" in <br />Honor and Appreciation of his Dedication to the City of Sunny Isles Beach as a Founding <br />Father and Chairperson of the Initial Charter Revision Commission; Directing the City <br />Manager or his Designee to Place Signage Commensurate with this Distinction on Said Park <br />Bench; Authorizing the City Manager To Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br />Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: [City Clerk's A'ote: Tltis Item bras heard cf er Item 3A.J City Clerk Hines read the <br />title. and Mayor Edelcup reported that one of the City's founding fathers and Chairperson of <br />the initial Charter Revision Commission. Bob Lilienfeld, passed away last month. To honor <br />Bob's memory for all that he has done in the City is to have a lasting monument by having a <br />bench in Heritage Park with his name on it. <br />Public Speakers: Roslyn Brezin <br />Former Citv Commissioner Roslyn Brezin, who was a member of that initial Charter <br />Revision Commission, said there is a picture of the original Charter Revision Commission <br />hanging in History Hall of which Bob Lilienfeld was the Chairperson. Bob encouraged <br />evervone on that Commission to do the very best that they could and as a result we achieved <br />so much and of course we achieved cityhood which was the most important thing. Bob was <br />highly respected and he will be greatly missed. <br />Mayor Edelcup and the Commission presented a Certificate of Dedication and a framed <br />photograph of Heritage Park — Memorial Wall and Bench to Robert Lilenfeld's widow <br />MabeIle Lilienfeld, his daughter Tatiana Lilienfeld, and granddaughter Makavla Lilienfeld (3 <br />Years old). <br />Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. Resolution No. 2014-2176 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br />[City Clerk's Note: The Commission heard hent 5A after Item IOB and the remainder ofthe <br />agenda Ivens heard in order.] <br />IOC. Supporting <br />the North Miami Beach Little League with In -Kind Support in an Estimated Amount of <br />54.000.00 for Use of the Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field to Provide a Recreational Baseball <br />Program; Authorizing the City Manager To Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br />Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title. Mayor Edelcup asked Student Council President <br />Timothy Bryd to participate in this item. Student Council President Bryd asked for a motion <br />and second. and called for a vote. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution.
