The design incorporated structural features similar to those used at <br />the existing Stadium. The bridge enclosure was “light” and “airy” to allow high visibility. The tunnels included a “floating” arched ceiling parallel to the precast <br />tunnel structure ceiling. ACAI completed the design, but the client decided to longer pursue the D/B. The conceptual studies and visualizations also included the development <br />of several illumination schemes in order to create scenarios of how the overpass structure would appear with dramatic architectural lighting. Coincidentally, it was ACAI in 1996 that provided Title II Document of this station, thereby helping to pave <br />the way for its restoration. The project con- templates the restoration of the historic bridge and the addition of a new counterpart alongside, in order to keep <br />the rail line active and operational. ACAI was charged with developing alternative design options for the bridge and a new station platform and providing <br />Virtual Design and Construction 3D images and animation so the designs could be visualized by the client and the public as part of the charrette process. <br />Role: Project Manager/Cost $850M <br />e. <br />(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED <br />I-595 PD&E STUDY <br />Broward County, Florida (FDOT D4) <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (if applicable) <br />2006 N/A <br /> (3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm <br />Study to develop traffic capacity, operational, and safety improvements for I-595, which included lane additions, major interchange modifications, reversible <br />lanes, and passenger transit.
